Hi all,

I got permission to hunt 2 yards today and yesterday..yard #1 produced 8 quarters, 8 dimes, 43 memorial cents, 2 nickels and 5 wheat cents, along with a Tootsie Toy car and a pair of lost car keys.

Yard #2 was what I would have called a "dead yard" (yards that yield nothing) but I found a hot area at the very end of the property in the back yard, which revealed a '58 wheatie, and '50 silver Rosie and a nice hunk of silver in the form of an initial ring  I found the ring first..the silver dime was 3 steps away from it, and the wheat was 2 steps away going the other direction.

I was surprised I only came up with only 2 obsolete coins, but I did get my silver fix for the day :hello2:

I thought it was kind of funny the ring had tape wrapped around the band, which showed it was too big for whoever lost it..apparently the tape didn't help and it came off anyway ::)

Hope you all find a little treasure this week.

Those rings were extremely popular in the 60's

Another nice ring find, Nat. I think I'll call you the ring man from now on and not the nozzle man :laughing7:

Nice ring Nattie! Glad to see you posting something! ;D
HH,

Thanks Cindy..permission for yards has been harder to get lately (I'm thinking because of the economy) and people have been more wary to have a stranger on their property when they're not around..however when I do get permission I usually end up finding something good!

Thanks Doug, actually I'm kinda glad I didn't find more than a couple of broken Tootsie Toy vehicles during these last 2 hunts..I dug up more than 320 toy cars in my detecting career. Basically I remove neglected toys from the ground and give them a new home..some are downstairs in a box while some of the older ones that are in good shape are enshrined in a display case I made.

Great ring, Nattie! :icon_pirat: Odds are some gal was wearing her boyfriends ring, it was too big, and so she added the tape. (been there, done that) :D Then she lost it. :P :D

Super finds!!! Nana
