It's not the best time for the wet sand at Seal Beach and I've exhausted almost 100% of the dry there. So...decided to try Sunset Beach. It's not that far..maybe 6 miles from home but off my regular path.

Walking the dry sand for about a half mile got me Nothing (with a capital "N"). Not even trash?? WTH (What The Heck!). Well OK got two bottle caps at the lifeguard tower. The weather is Great...I'm at the Beach... not to much to complain about....but I'd sure like to find at least "something".

So I switched from the blanket line to the dunes area close to the homes. A clad quarter...Yea! Then..in the middle of a blanket imprint a penny signal (Yea..a penny! notice how desperate I was!). Wait..it's a pull tab in my scoop,

A squashed pull tab. NO...it's a ring...it's really a ring!

It's marked STER + 10K . It's a pretty little ring but doesn't look like a new drop. It's a bit squashed and my experience is that STER or indicates some age.

Going to an unfamiliar beach can be a bit unsettling...we don't realize how familiar the old haunts are.

Some say the beach cleaning machines pick up a lot of the drops. Could be they are right. You did well though.Nice !!

Congratulation!

nothing lost by trying to straighten that ring , nice find!

I think it's Black Hills design, plus the different colors of the metal - google it, see if you agree.

Thats tri colored gold.
