River bank party spots?

Has anyone ever tried to MD in local areas by a river bank(s) where large amounts of folks may gather for outdoor concerts etc? I live by the Rio Grande river in west texas/new mexico/old mexico area and was wondering if anyone thought this may be a good area to detect.

Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

Never tried hunting place like that but it sounds like a great idea. Any place where lots of people gathered is ideal, especially if they did it before 1964 8)

The great thing about those type of places is that they replenish themselves over time...for clads anyway.

Foil cig wrappers, screw caps, bottle caps, pulltabs. Sandwich and charcoal grill foil, those metal windblocks on the bic lighters and their rotary strikers, zipper pulls and snaps from clothing torn or rotted off. I dunno. Oh yeah shredded aluminum and broken glass too! Arghhh! Those come to mind from the "party sites" I've seen.
