Hi guys and gals.

I found this while hunting my local large river.

I have ben obsessed with finding artifacts since I found that bead a while back.So my son and I have been spending a bunch of time scouring the river banks. :)

I found this piece of glass but I am not 100% sure if its obsidian or some really thick dark glass? If it is obsidian it is for sure an artifact as obsidian is not natural here and the natives traded tribes from Oregon,Nor Cal and North BC.

What do you think?

Greenwood Charlie. Trying out the new feature we have been working on getting. Your giant piece of slag was a great candidate. Thank you! Good luck with the Salmon and the artifacts.

I am thinking that it is probably a piece of glass that was chipped off an old insulator (prolly Brookfield). Just a thought. I am from Edmonds wa. so I know all the unbelievable fishing fun. I now live in Kansas where it's very hard to find Salmon fun here!! In Envy.

Ah man your missing out! Its a pink / humpy year so lots to catch! Just had a nice red Chinook/ king the other day which was amazing!! :)
It definetly could be a a piece of an insulator good call. Its super dark green so it would have been a decent piece. Mostly Dominion/diamond glass up here, they were the big producer here. But there is some Brookies too

Intact. It would be a valuable insulator. Lol

I actually have the price guide bible for insulators . I was into them for a while until I realized pickings are pretty slim this late in the game. But i still check em out in thrift shops when I see them.

From the rounded side, it appears to be a piece of an old blown glass ale or rum bottle!

No, they are Hybrid Bass, a crossbreed between a Striped Bass and a White Bass! This was just 2 out of the 5 we caught in a little over an hour on Cherokee Lake. We were after the big Hybrids but they weren't biting that day. I was out with my friend Lloyd on his' boat and a week before, he caught several Hybrids in the 25 pound range.
