Hello all!
I have seen in the past several posts that mentioned using a rock tumbler to clean up coins after digging them. I am curious as to how this is done, and what materials are used.
Obviously I know that we don't clean coins with nuministic value, but what about just regular clad?
What brands have you used?
Does is work???
What mix of grit?
What other items have you used it on?

I have a pickle jar with a bunch of dug coins, and from the beach that I want to get cleaned up. Any thoughts would be helpful!
Thanks in advance

That search feature is exactly what I used... I love it... and a lot of great cached information gets forgotten about... hopefully you get something, and, maybe some new stuff gets posted here for you. :)

You can add some table salt to your vinegar solution...this will enhance the cleaning process....just don't leave the clad coins in this solution too long or it will eat away the copper part of the coin...leaving you with little sandwhich-looking coins ;)

I learned this the hard way ;D

Hey Silver Bob,

Nice homemade tumbler :)
