stopped by the gas station this morning to do my everyday trading and as the guy was checking me out I began to look in the need a penny thing he said I have several roll of pennies you want them I said yep ended up with 5 hand rolled penny have not search them yet headed to work but was a bit excited several weeks ago he had 2 64 halves which someone had paid with bought both for $10 if I find anything good will post!

ah I love searching pennies very rewarding I feel like I am in the process of putting together a complete set just sold a set of my ASE proofs on eBay once PayPal clears the payment am looking to complete the set minus the 09 s vdb. what all you save and keep? I keep all copper, au stuff, 2009's, wheat, Canadian, and s mint stuff cause I live in east tn don't see a whole whole lot of s mint pennies

what all you save and keep?

I keep everything you said, other than AU cents. I also have a 1941-1974 cent book, so I look for the best example for each date and mint in the book. I only have 1 empty hole, a 1973-S cent.

200 pennies the keepers were 46 copper, 10 AU, 1 wheat common date

Only 46? That is relatively low percentage. I heard people are getting somewhere about 30-35% Cu in their findings. In Canada it's about 70-75%, but I only keep early coppers. Were 10 AU Zn or Cu?

1 was copper these were CWR though. I usually do 1-2 boxes a week of brinks they usually yield a lot of keepers the oldest penny ever found roll searching was a 1912 wheatie I have found a lot of other stuff never a double die though
