Roman contemporary forgery -fourree-

Went out today on some stubble plenty of buttons and lead and shot gun ends, only found one coin a Roman silver plated coin looks to be Antonius Pius. needs some identifying...

counterfeit or not, it's awesome. probably more so if it's counterfeit, because of the extent someone went to make a forgery

Forgeries as "art" were popular in the 1800's in england. That may be what it is, it does not look to be contemerary.

I agree with your dad.
Caracalla (AD 198-217) had his name changed to Marcus Anrelius Antoninus; and he was the sole emperor who referred to Securitas as "securitas impii"--on coins dating between 206 and 210 AD.

Nice find, these were made to rip off the ancient Brits
