Cru'dad is still out for the count. Although he has now turn detecting into a spectators sport.:laughing7:
Hot day & the money spiders & thunder bugs where out in force, & made the 3.5 hours gridding a little less fun.
It also doesn't help that I am moving further away from the main area. I have strategically left a much better area until the condition improve. I don't want to completely waste this turn of the plough.
Lots more Roman Nails (only pictured half)
Not so much pottery.
Late Medieval Buckle
1st C AD Roman Fibula (Brooch) - That was nearly my only GPSed find until;

Rues
Bronze Unit
AD1-10

Bearded Head Right
[RVII] in front

Warrior Riding Right
Holding Sword
[R] Below
[VII] in front
ABC2754

ABC rates it as Scrace, its now our 6th Celtic Bronze Unit this year which already equals our best ever year, that just happen to be last year! So here's hoping for 1 more.

Wonder what those archeologists in 2000 years will say when they dig out your house hahah..
Keepin at it on and on thats the spirit! :laughing7:

When are you going to dig out more Roman trash pits? A year or two ago you did one in a yard or something like that.

Another wonderful post. My son and I enjoy reading and looking at all the finds you get!! Keep them coming!

I did a house this year & had a blank.(posted)

You have to find them by trial & error. I have 3 other house permissions lined up within the city walls, but I do them in the Winter.

Winter?:icon_scratch: Lol

Nice Fibular Cru, it's a nice save.

I'm turfing people's back lawns. I like to do it with least stress to the grass, when they are not growing & the ground is nice & wet. Goes back much better, when digging a 5ft hole. I pride myself in putting it all back & them guessing where the hole used to be.

Good year for Celtic coins. Hope you get a silver one under the coil soon. :icon_thumleft:

I get what you do and when as I've seen the post ups of your past dig.
It's the winter reference I was chuckling about, your totally spoiled by the trade winds. :)

I was hoping for one but we have already had 2 (I think), plus 2 Celtic Gold (well 1 was plated). Lost count of how many bronze without looking at Cru'Dads maps, but maybe 5-6 over the years. We need a really deep plough, but that will never happen, so I'm hoping the Archie dig goes ahead.

OK, I get you now, we no longer have Winters, just a slightly colder extension of the Autumn. Not sure what snow is anymore.

Really cool find as usual. Can you date the pottery at all?
Yes, all the Pottery I have been posting is Roman Period 1st C AD - 4th C AD.
