Yesterday I found this most interesting and unusual roman or germanic brooch (fibula) dating to the late 3rd century. It is made of bronze with silver inlays.

HI Burdie, you can compare these ancient brooches (fibulas) to the modern safety pins, they worked the same way and were used instead of buttons which were not used for this purpose.
