Those are some sweet finds. Roman coins in such good condition can be tough to dig out of the ground. Congrats on some fine silver.

I think its insane to find coins that old !!! 69 96 AD...

What does it feel like to dig a dated piece of major ancient history like that ?
And you guys even finding coins dated BC ! And hammered gold and silvers !

Over here any Dynasty we had was a 80's TV show !

I'm green patina with ENVY !!

Folkert ,so glad you are getting out and still digging history up amazing history. How do you like your Vaquero ? I used a Cibola there as my main machine for the last year or so I was there and it did well. A silver roman was my most sought after coin but it was not meant to be.I found many silver Hellers and Krultzers but no Romans. :'( May be next time. ;)

HI Ron, I am in Wiesbaden, near Frankfurt.

@Birdman: The Vaquero is a good machine, especially on fields. I have been out again this morning, about 30 late roman coins (only copper)!!

Fabulous!!! We get excited finding coins from the 1800's...can't even imagine finding Roman coins.. If we came to Germany, would we easily be able to metal detect? Do you need permits?? We are thinking of travelling to Bavaria either this year or next.
