Tried for 2 hours on the 'Roman Brooch Field', I somewhat wasted my time, as we did it well in good conditions last year & the Wheat Stubble was a nightmare. (1 scrappy to the total :P )
Land-Mag saved the evening by arriving & then moving us to a nearby site where the field had been shallow ploughed since we were last on it. (Dad joined us later after tea)
After 1.5hours on this land I managed a few more Roman Coins, taking us to 13 for the evening (including 2 Dad got early on). Plus a Roman circular red enamelled whatzit.
It didn't picture well but the Tacitas AD275 (only Emperor for 7 months) is a new reverse type for the album, so all is not lost :)

I think I will return to this field, as its turned up a few we missed last year. We are lucky but the window of opportunity is normally very short, its just that we have found so many sites, that there is normally one somewhere in a condition to detect.

well done finding those coins
Cheers
Its pretty easy on good sites that the team have researched, what is hard is where to spend the time.

More to come Cru! At least there are not so much buttons to dig...

Good observation, this site is Roman or nothing (pretty much). All the lead & nails are Roman, nothing much continued. However, a small chance of Iron Age.

I might have to have an after work go this week :-\ No detecting for me this weekend either :(

About 5000 or so

A small chance of Iron Age, as we had a couple of items in the nearby wood
