Today Mr. Aquila and I hit a local swimming hole. I found some Euros, cents and some useless penni coins. I also found two silver rings.

We also hit an old civil war site. Only war junk was found there and one coin.. Finnish 10 penniä 1923.

I'd not say war junk.... Those are pieces of history.

The Winter War is often forgotten and overlooked, but it was still an important piece of history.

That and my wife is rather fond of her M39 Finnish Mosin Nagant.

Nice finds! I would go there again someday, I'm sure you can even find a gold ring and probably more silver jewelry. It's amazing what I keep finding in the swimming holes around here, even if I go to the same spot pretty often.

Today I hit the same swimming hole again. It was cold and cloudy day and whole area was empty, except myself and one man who was fishing off the pier. So conditions were perfect for treasure hunting.


Most of the finds came from grass area. Best find of the day was another silver ring with rose motif.


Two rings, one junk, one silver
Half of the heart necklace (junk)
A buckle
Some euros and cents
Four markka-coins
50 penniä and 10 penniä coins
And lot of junk pennies (Finnish 1 penni and 5 penniä coins from 1960s and 1970s.) I call them junk-pennies because they were almost worthless when in use and nowadays you can find them everywhere. They are made of copper or aluminum so they give very good signal.

My findings from this beach and nearby field. Watch with owners name in it, some cash, bale seals and small swedish silver coin from 1582.
