Yes, rumor confirmed, I spoke to the vault teller at a local TD bank, starting Tuesday, May 1, 2012, TD bank will be switching carriers from Brinks to Garda.
This means that TD bank will no longer have plastic wrapped coin, they will begin to have paper wrapped coin. No more quick edge searching.

The teller asked me how I knew, I have connections :)

I just hope Garda does not have solid dated boxes, time will definately tell.

HH,
Buff

How is Garda? do they have solid boxes, or a nice mix of coins?

all TD banks here used brinks which did not have paper wrapped rolls, all were clear-plastic, great for edge checking, but those will be history starting 5/1/12

TD here uses Garda and has been using Garda. Use them as a dump and all the bags are marked "deliver to Garda" and when I see businesses order coin theyre always in flat pack S&S boxes. Never seen clear wrap coins in my area, kinda jealous.

I wonder how/if that's going to affect my dumping system.

Paper wrapped coins will be new to me(other than my half dollars I get), I don't know if Garda is going to wipe out TD bank's vault of brinks coins, or just supply TD bank with garda coins once brinks runs out. I would LOVE to buy out TD bank's vault of brinks coins to help them out ;)

It is going to affect me big time. I dumped my halves I got from Garda into Brinks through TD bank, now I will be dumping halves directly into my source. Maybe this will make my monthly brinks boxes better though :dontknow:
