Got that old gun out of the tank and indeed was a cap gun as I was at first double thinking whether it was real or not. These things can fool ya until you clean em up. This particular one is heavy cast iron but it never hurt nobody. Made by Kenton Toys in 1937, this was the Dixie model that may have had the barrel cut short. I can just imagine the young fellow running around scaring his little sisters as he fought off bank robbers and villains that ran the town back then. It may be a common find for many of you but I really like these things for the nostalgic feeling they give me. I remember these old toys myself...and I remember shootin up the town in the name of law and order, although I did pretend to be the bad guy on more than one occasion:laughing7: Thanks for lookin, vn

Hi Villagenut, like your finding! I myself found a gun but not sure if it is real or not and also not sure what to clean it with. Its doesn't have rust on the outside like yours did but it has this hard black tar looking stuff on the outside of it. By any chance do you know what i could clean it with?

That one looks like a rubber gun that was in a fire.....is it even metallic at all?
