sabor sheath tip???

Anyone have one of these? Was told it was the tip of a cover for bayenet? ? 20150120_194012.jpg

Looks like a bayonet scabbard tip - the large end with the small holes attached to the leather scabbard, probably stitched. The small end had a small brass piece shaped somewhat like a bullet called a finial. Here's a site with some pics/info.....Civil War Bayonets and Scabbards
