Happy New Year!

Forgive me if there is an existing thread for this topic, and/or move this to an appropriate page.

I have been watching & reading videos, threads and metal detecting sites looking for reviews of sand scoops including homemade jobbies using PVC sewer fittings, (of which I have made a few). The stainless steel versions I have come across have my interest because the PVC versions are not strong enough especially where the handle intersects the scoop.

What recommendations can you make for a good quality long lasting sand scoop, one which I can dig with in freshwater sand - dry or wet, including underwater finds. Please understand, I want to be able to DIG with it, not just scoop.

Appreciate your input, looking for brands and models.

I would definitely stick with stainless steel even in regular sand the pvc and aluminum scoops will begin to wear down.

Yeah, I have one pf the flat plastic feed scoop style diggers. I have only used it a few times, but it is definitely showing some wear.
