I found the very same buckle this fall, it was at a 1940's farmyard. Of course it could be older than that, but I was thinking it dated from the 1940's because of where I found it. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1451260146.691195.jpg

It's cool you found yours at a confederate site, that gives me hope that the buckle is older than what I thought. Hopefully an expert will chime in and let us know.

Upon closer inspection our buckles are slightly different....but so much the same!

I agree, that type is mid 20th C.

Not sure about the exact ID, but no doubt they are some nice brass pieces. :)
