Box #1-1960 Rosie

Box #2-Skunk

Box #3-1964 Rosie

I was picking up the last 2 boxes friday at the bank and an old man behind me asked what I did with all that change. I told him I look for errors and key dates. He told me he had a small bag of older coins in his truck so I proceded to follow him. He pulled out a small silver deposit bag from an old bank in texas. It contained 3 WL halves, 1 64 Kennedy, 6 40% Kennedies, 1 barber quarter, 2 standing liberty quarters, 15 Mercs, 2 Rosies, 1 1951 canadian dime??(Is it silver???)It looks and feels like it, 2 Buffalo Nickels, 32 Wheaties, and abunch of clad quarters from 1965 :[. Said he wanted 75 dollars for the bag so I snatched it up! Gonna try to upload pics to the forum so everyone can see!! HH

Amazing, sounds like a silver angel sent down from the heavens. What are the odds.... :notworthy:

I find it strange that the envelope says.. "Loose Coin deposit" then "Place all loose unwrapped SILVER" also "The envelope will be received at face value?" Does that mean the customer will get face value? I thought it was just to deposit loose coins but why would it only point out silver? odd.... but I.S. Great score man! I'm drooling over those mercs and the standing liberty and the 64 kennedy and.... well all of it :love10: :icon_biggrin: :laughing7: :laughing9: You deserved it dude! :hello2:

Good score! Perhaps the envelope is pre-64 and at that time folks referred to non-penny coins as "silver". Some still do just because of the color and not the content.

The envelope is from the 40s I believe. I am going to keep it. It is so cool. I think I did great for 75 dollars!

exactly because 64 and earlier coinage was "silver" and referred to as such.
