Relics were dug on permission lots and the jewelry and bling were dug from school yards.

I had my trusty companion...

Julio.jpg

Lots of widgets and a few coins, those being a 1912 V Nickle and a 1957 Wheatie. The decorated mount appears to be a brooch with the pin broken off of the back.

Lots of bling including three non-precious metal rings, (check the enameled brass unicorn ring!)

Sterling Opal1.jpg Sterling Opal2.jpg

The surprise of the day was the 1909 V Nickle found at a school that is about 7 years old. However, the school is built on old farmland.

Sterling Opal3.jpg

I got a scratchy 73 VDI on the ATPro and thought it was going to be another "decroded piece of carp" Lincoln cent. But, I do dig those signals and this is why...

Sterling Opal4.JPG Sterling Opal5.jpg Sterling Opal6.jpg

A very pretty marked "sterling" pendant with mother-of-pearl (or fire opal?) inlays along with another dark soft gemstone. The pendant was still attached to the closed, intact box-link chain that is also marked in two places .925. Come to find out, there was also a nail in the plug, confusing Julio but not making him loose interest. :laughing7:

Thanks for looking. I wish all of my TNet friends a safe and fun Labor Day, get out and dig if you can! Sub 8-)

You proved again why you need to dig the iffy signals. The great silver would still be in the ground if you didn’t. Way to go and keep swingin and diggin.

Cool stuff! For a minute I thought Julio was Julia until until you mentioned "him" being confused :)

I'm interested in the V nickel. Yours is the first pink nickel I have ever seen.

Tuberale, Every Shield, V, and Buffalo, and early Jefferson nickle that I have dug here in the Ozarks comes out of the ground looking just like this one. Must have to do with soil mineralization. Cheers, Sub 8-)

Man you had a great day yesterday, congrats on that sweet looking silver necklace!
I haven't been able to bring myself to detect a park yet this year, digging pennies are my nemesis. :laughing7:

Wow that pendant is a nice find!

It’s hard to tell from the photo but it looks more like an opal than mother of pearl to me! It particularly looks like a lab grown opal but I’m no expert.

Congratulation!
