Saturday's Silver: Rings & Cuff Link
I was able to get on Saturday for a hunt. Todd Lipe showed up at the house promptly at 8:00AM... it was frosty, but we were both ready to go. We hit a couple of woodsy spots with no success, then off to a school, where Smittyman showed up to join the fun and frivolity.
The first hole that I dug, yielded a silver ring with a dangling teddy bear. Smittyman batted his eyes and said he really liked it a lot, and something about how nice it would look of his pinky. I was not paying attention...
After a bit we went for some BoJangles fried chicken, then off to the next spot. I had the Deus set up with my secret silver jewelry program. We three wise men ambled around the next spot for a little bit, then I got a nice high tone, and dug my second silver ring... a little knot. Not 10 minutes later another nice high tone, and out comes a 7 gram sterling cufflink! Made by Fenwick Sailor in the 1950s... best of all it has Mercury on it! Worst of all, I broke it on the way home. I also managed to find 2 dog tags, Ballys token, 5 Wheaties and a little metal sun.
I was bummed that I didn't find the silver coins that I like so much, but my jewelry program worked pretty good.
Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts!
