Hello all, these are pictures taken from an old picture of two nice Saxon pennies that me and my brother John found in the mid nineties. I found the one on the left King Cuthred 798-807, John found the other Alfred The Great 871-899. Both coins came from the same field in the same week, a field that turned out to be very rewarding over the years.

Got some pictures of saxon pennies in the loft. The picture quality isn't very good (pre. digital). Will try to dig them out.

In Iowa you need a switch position labeled "Arrowheads" then you would find the old history.

It is something to be able to find old Roman, Saxon, etc stuff going back over 2000 years. Makes my mouth water.
