KKC got permission to hunt two sites yesterday. The one site we are going to hunt next Saturday. It is a horse pasture and it looks quite promising!

Here is a pic of the field we hunted today! As you can see, it was a beautiful day on the Pennsylvania frontier!

The day started off with us finding another "Hick Outpost," but this one was around the Civil War era. From my research, I knew there was a late 18th century dwelling on this farm, but we just had to find it. Folks, find it we did and the goodies were keeping us giddy for a few hours!

I dug the nice King George III halfpenny not long after finding this early dwelling on the farm! Here it is after retrieving it!

I also dug my first Liberty Cap thicky; it is dated 1794! :headbang: Here are pics of it in the field!

Here are pics of the cleaned up finds for the day! Look closely in the date region of the Liberty Cap, because the date is super clear!

We are looking forward to hunting the new site on Saturday! :headbang:

beautiful scenery! good hunt and I think 90 degrees this time of year is just a little too hot!

Kyle,

congrats on that super '94 Liberty Cap!
you guys really tore it up today!
hope there's a lot more to come outta that site.

You guys both had a great day. I just had a feeling that I would dig a copper, but it was not meant to be. I dug a million buttons though. I found 9 of them at the 1700s dwelling. :icon_thumleft:

Congrats on a nice Georgie and your first Liberty Cap thicky. Wow, they were literally dug 10 feet from each other.

If there was one part you'd want to be clear you got it... the date! So is KKC back? ;D

Yessiree BUB...Congrats once again Kyle on your first Liberty Cap Thicky. It's about time knuckle head. SHEEESH. :laughing9: Now you only need to find approx. 5 more to close the gap. ;D Georgie looks spanking. We should nickname this place the Colonial button factory or maybe the Thicky paradise. :D Kirk will find something nice next week.

Kyle, You could very well have a scarce variety of Liberty cap. Just looking and judging by the date of 1794, look at the Sheldon 63 variety. Look at the placing of the 9 and 4.
