Crown of thorns starfish are extremely destructive to coral reefs. Trident trumpet sea snail is one of the few predators of this poisonous starfish. When I was stationed in Okinawa in the late 80s all the Island divers would occasionally get together for crown of thorns drives to collect as many as we could find. Had to handle them carefully as they can sting.
