Got to a tractor supply ..... but a HOE with a fiberglass handle. Cut it off at the length you need or want. Put a wood dowel about a ft long in the bottom. glue the dowel and push it in far enough that you can put a good sealer on the end. Then its water tight and floats so you dont need any noodles. Light as you get and works great..... ive had mine over a year and i hunt a lot and in locations where the sand is like concrete when trying to move it. You may have $25 in it when done.

I recently purchased a pair of 48 inch (1-1/4") Hisco fiberglass post hole digger handles to use on my Starv Scoop.
The shafts are extremely solid and do not bend.

After shipping the cost worked out to be about $20.00 per shaft.
