Got out this morning to one of the local lakes and hit a swimming hole that I have been waiting for the water level to drop on. Well the wait paid off. This was my most productive hunt yet. I found lots of change. Lots of Jewelry and even a Nintendo DS Game. I found enough quarters to pay the parking fee. Then I scored my first ring which was a 10kt White Gold Band. Then I scored a nice Sterling Silver Band. I followed that up with a low growl that sounded like gold. I had a heck of a time recovering that target because the water was so murky I kept pushing it around with my scoop. But when it finally got in my scoop and came to the surface she showed her face. A nice 10kt Yellow Gold engagement band with a heart shaped CZ! I still have not found that elusive diamond. I then found a second sterling ring that has a humming bird on it.

Thanks guys.. It's days like this that make this hobby so addicting. :icon_thumleft: It's also nice to start accumulating some gold!! I had a chance to chat with a fellow the other night. He saw me in the water with my detector and asked if I had found anything. I told not yet I just got here. He said he almost needed to pay me for my services. He told me that just a little earlier that evening they were playing football in the water and he caught the ball. When he caught the ball his gold ring almost fell off of his finger. It caught the tip of his finger and held on. I laughed and replied, I try to return rings when I can. I told him he needs to engrave his name in it just in case he loses it. I told him that most of us that detect take pride in returning found items. He grinned and was stunned that we would do something like that. I also told him that if there is no name then we don't know who to track down. But we don't mind that either.. :laughing7:
