Dad is a away, so Land-Mag stepped up as no.1 scout. We have a massive 2 farm complex to explore & it seems on the face of it to be a good area. But we spent 2 hours yesterday field walking (no detectors) about 6 likely fields. They all turned out to be unpromising. So this morning we tried a few more fields (about 6) with the detectors & most were negative results. We need a new plan for this land, too much success means you just expect to go out with your research & land reading skills & track down a hotspot, which this time never happened.
I saved the day with a bent 1816 Sixpence.:laughing7:
(3 hour hunt)

Somedays you just can't find anything. I've gone to good parks that some ares have nothing. Then I feel disappointed and quit that area for a while. The you go back and score some nice coins. Just keep hitting the areas and you'll turn up something.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting

It's interesting how encouraging just that one little silver is , even with your experiences finding much older or more rare finds -silver
is always special coming out of the ground .

Yeap, even a 1946 (our last year) silver is a day saver.

It happens to everyone now and then.
A little too much anticipation, not enough relaxation, deep breath CRU! Your walking over more historic events than there is metal targets to be found. Relax it will come to you.
Still nice finds! With some sweet silver!
