Now we are taking risks & exploring new land. It's a farm we got this year & is at least 1500 acres. Some of the land surrounds a small Medieval Village & we started the hunt as close to the Church as we could. This field, was as we hoped, the best option, but we tried 5 other fields in the 4 hours to get a feel of the land.

None of these fields had cropmarks & we were not expecting to do as well as we did:

1 Scrappy Roman Coin
1 Broken Hammered Silver Coin
1866 Sixpence
Cartwheel Penny
1 Complete 'ringing' Crotal Bell (plus bits)
Some nice Buckles
2 bits of Medieval Purse Bar (fit together)
Saxon/Medieval Lead Spindal Whorl :)
Medieval Lead bird feeder (has decor on base, similar to 14th C Ampulla) :)
Silver Spoon - Makersmark H*D & owners initials B over IE - This translates as the Surname 'B', Husbands first name 'I' & wifes first name 'E' - I think its 18th C :icon_thumright:

I will probably give it to the landowner & let him decide, the initials might be researchable, as its a small Villiage  It was in a field opposite his house.

The design on the bottom of the bird feeder is like the talisman they carved into the timbers of medieval buildings to ward off evil...I think :icon_thumleft:

Didn't know that, it's a simple flower with six petals & dots between each petal. Seen many similar Lead Tokens as well.

This is the land we gained permission for you to hunt as well, plenty left to look at, if it falls through next weekend.

It's what's carved into the timbers at Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge just up the road from me. Something the carpenters did apparently.
