TAMPA, Fla., July 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Seafarer Exploration Corporation (OTCQB: SFRX), a company focused on archeologically sensitive exploration, research and recovery of historic shipwrecks is pleased to announce that Seafarer's Quest, LLC has successfully been granted a three year research permit for the shipwreck site south of Cape Canaveral from the Florida Bureau of Archaeology Research.

"We are so excited about this site!" exclaimed Kyle Kennedy, CEO of Seafarer.

"The complexities of this particular permit dictated a much longer time horizon, but hopefully good things come to those who wait. The long awaited issuance of this permit allows Seafarer to begin the investigation, research and archaeological excavation of this very exciting historical site. There have already been several artifacts discovered, some solid silver and a pistol with a visible date of 1709 and the name of the maker," added Mr. Kennedy.

Previous research of this area produced artifacts of significant importance that led well known archaeologists to believe there is an 18th century historical shipwreck in this vicinity. "These artifacts are currently being held by the State of Florida and will be pictured on our website (www.seafarercorp.com). In addition, video of the underwater work being done at the Juno Beach site has been added to the website as well," stated Mr. Kennedy.

"We are extremely thrilled to get started on this third site. Weather permitting, work will begin immediately. The site will require a lot of work, time, and testing to further understand the characteristics and difficulties of this particular site," added Mr. Kennedy.

"Furthermore," Mr. Kennedy continued, "Seafarer Exploration wants to personally thank the Florida State officials and employees for their help and guidance throughout this process. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Director and State Historic Preservation Officer, Robert Bendus, and Bureau Chief and State Archaeologist Dr. Mary Glowacki for their timeless commitment to responsible archaeological preservation and for working with us to ensure all issues were properly handled. Seafarer is strongly committed to using proper archaeological techniques because it is important to preserve the historical and archaeological integrity of the site. We commit ourselves to making sure their trust in our company is warranted."

Mr. Kennedy finished by stating, "While we are excited to finally get started on this third site, we are not complacent about pursuing other potential sites. We have clearly defined sites, some in Florida, and some on the east coast of the United States. We have also had some correspondence about sites outside of the United States, but still in shallow water. We are executing our plan to increase the probability of success and ultimately build shareholder value in the coming months and years."

research permit -- look but do not "take" anything --ie spend a lot of money doing the states "research" for them but then get hosed when you later on apply for a "salvage permit' --only a "salvage permit" allows you to actually take stuff off the bottom for 'legal sale" .. any other permit is useless as far as getting anything to recover for sale to recoup your cost of doing business.

--this is a very old hustle game the states been playing on salvors for years now ---(you wind up doing butt loads of "free" research" for them-- you winding up going broke in the process and get zippo in return ----check into it for yourselves and find out how many actual "salvage permits" the state of florida archies have issued and how long ago it was.--sure they will issue all the "look and research permits (for a fee) that yu want but try to get a "salvage permit" as a" for profeit" business --not happening .

Not only that, the state will declare your wreck site an "aquatic preserve" and forbid all activity. Then they will move in and take all the goodies!

if its a "aquatic preserve" --no one is supposed to do a damn thing there * and if they do after denying your request * you sue for 'discrimanation for having "double standards"...

In my opinion, some publicly traded companies (I've no idea which ones) apparently could care less if they ever get a recovery permit or not. You dont have to actually recover any treasure to sell shares. Sometimes all you need are cleverly worded, self published "press releases," and thousands of gullible people with lots of pennies they can afford to lose.

its boasted by some morons that they PULLED u the cannon because the permit allows that...but they cant sell it imho...AND how long would it take to get a true SALVAGE permit ...what actual truthful hoops must be jumped thru...some say the ceo has a special in-route with the state because they got a salvage permit at juno/lantana beaches, which got them nothing...I just hope all the best for the investors, the stock only went down since they got that permit for the current operations
