Seam side flask

I wish this seam side flask was mine, But my sister found it today while I was detecting. And I'm slightly jealous lol. Does anyone know who produced this seam side flask? I have a feeling it's a New England piece but I don't know. Thanks for help- Justin

your flask was probably made in the 1860s .With such a large pontil it almost looks like a sand pontil .There were a phew glass houses up your was so with out any markings its hard to tell.

I don't think it's pontiled but just the impression left by an unusually large post bottom mold. Very nice color. Looks to date to the 1870s to me.

yep, definitely not a pontil.

Thanks guys it's deffinantly not pontiled. I'm kind of thinking its a lyndeborough glass co. Though its not marked but I know they used old stoddard molds for a while. The form
looks stoddard to me.

I know bottles.... It is a bottle that was blown in a snap case in approx 1890. It is not a Pontil mark. Pontil bottles ended between 1860 & 1865... You can tell this is much later by the lip on the bottle. This bottle had a paper label on it originally... Cool find...cool bottle...

I'm sure that you know bottles, so I'm sure you meant to say that it was held for finishing in a snap case after being blown in and removed from the two-piece, post bottom mold. And with it having an applied lip, I'll stick by it being blown in the 1870s. By the 1890s, most all bottles had tooled tops from having been blown in full height blow-back molds.

Yeah this base is typical 1870s stuff.
