I found this Seated Dime while nugget hunting last fall with my GP3500. It was 8" deep in a small area that had been ground sluiced. I knew I had found a nice old coin but am just realizing it is in very good shape compared to some others I see posted here. This coin piqued my interest and I ended up buying a f75 and I am just getting started with it in my quest for old silver. The people I have showed it to always ask what is it worth? I looked in a book but I don't know how to grade coins so couldn't come to a conclusion.

Not quite earning the AU grade but it is way better then the EF. Looking at the 2009 redbook, EF is valued at $60 and the AU is worth $185. I would have no problem offering $125. If it was in an auction format, it would go higher. Very nice find. If I were you, I wouldn't be looking to sell.

Thanks for the info Diver_down. I don't plan on selling this coin as it was my first I ever found, but now I have an answer when people are curious about it's monetary worth. Kinda backwards finding something this nice for a first coin. I'm sure I will dig my share of clad and trash before I ever see something like this again.

FANTASTIC CONDITION! Hold onto that coin. A find like that doesn't happen all the time. Put it in a holder and save it as your first silver.
Congratulations!
