seated liberty dollar found 8-16-06 (same spot)

not 15-feet from where i found the dime i got a super large hit read half/dollar on the meter. at about 6inches this came up i mean holy-#$#$%% ! i was stunned. lots of old pottery chards to. has some old splat design on them. after that i just packed up and went home. this was a frist for me-!!! i loves this hobby-! take care.

thats awesome!! you dont often see seated dollars being dug, i think this is the first i have ever seen! a dollar was a lot of money in the 1840s! someone must have been pretty upset over losing that one! just a great find!

Say, if you post pics of the pottery shards I may be able to identify them. From your description, they may be Mocha ware, which was popular in the 1840's.
