Ron(rcat)gave me a call about 1 pm today said he went to a site of an old schoolhouse and had no luck in the morning hunting that site by himself.
he said ya wanna get out for a bit so i agreed.went back to a spot we had gone before and this time i had a great day!
ron got a few wheaties but i guess today was the day that the white's eagle landed :)` 4 IH's 1876,1886,1891 & 1893. 4 silver dimes.1936 merc,1887 seated and 2 barbers 1895-S & 1896-S(semi-keys) and a large copper to top the day off.not sure what it is? i see the III but doesn't look like a KG.the back is wiped out smooth. can you guys ID it for me and approximate date range?

Most common there but a fairly uncommon find in the US. I don't think Don has ever found one and that's quite a few early coppers. We dig them here but it's expected.

Gotcha but mintage doesn't mean much on our side. :-X Unless it's much higher than the 1700s Georgies there might be a higher number of the 06/07 minted, but with so many of the early coins counterfeited there probably was a larger number of those. We do find the 1800s ones but not as many as I would expect because I thought they would have been a popular coin before the tokens came on the scene in about 1812. Just a few more days and we'll be hunting them all down! :thumbsup:
