Unfortunately this one isn't a coin either:BangHead:. Went back out to my favorite area again to seek permissions after it finally stopped raining this afternoon. Found this little ring. Has no markings at all but certainly appears silver. The stone was missing. Thanks for looking.

Cool beans buddy, I love rings!
Yes sir and you will be posting some as soon as the water warms up I bet!
Go Dave go! Glad to see you out scoring some of the shiny stuff.

Sure beats building an addition to your house, huh?

Best of luck to you sir.
Thanks Tom. Chris is saving all his "get out of jail free" cards for warmer weather I believe. He even took his wife on a date the other night instead of going detecting:laughing7:
Congrats on the silver ring
Thank you TA but I sure would have liked a seated dime instead:P
Nice silver score
Thanks Wheat!
Congratz on the ring!
Thanks sir!
Nice one OD!! WTG, Q.
Thanks for your thoughts Mr Q. Looking forward to the Trio's next hunt/video.

Not to ambush your thread, but here is the ring... It does say sterling shank... Shank? Murder weapon? Ha!! Never saw anything that said sterling shank before...

That last pic ( the dirty one ) was taken in natural light Gary. As far as listening, it was underneath a cut nail lol. I knew that nail wasn't the tone I heard.

There's a lesson in that, I can't tell you how many times I plugged and found a piece of metal and then thought back to the vdi numbers and the sound of the hit. Telling myself, ya know, this lil piece of a nail just wouldn't make all that noise! So, looking further, I'd find the "real" target.

The ATP is REALLY good at that! I've used a few others and hunted with some who did and I have noticed that they all had more of a problem with that than I. Some of it is the machine but probably more is a trained ear. One just has to really listen to what a detector is trying to tell you.

It does fool you too, of course. I was kind of hurrying up the finish to a hunt once but still digging nickel signals. I got a 45-48 on the ATP and dug a pulltab, then, right next to it got another, same signal. I dug anyway. It was the single heaviest piece of gold I ever found! A 14kt gold ID bracelet with a heavy chain! Go figure! :)
