Sell antique silver for scrap value or historic value. what would you do?

Hang on to it. Silver dropped too much. Craigs list would be a good shot if you can't sit on it (2yrs they're predicting) till silver spikes again. Word of warning! Meet any buyers someplace like a bank or store parking lot that has a lot of security cameras not your home! Watch out for counterfeits. There's been a bunch of people running around my area buying stuff with bogus $20s. A test pen only costs $6 or $7 & saves a lot of grief. There's a few companies that buy to resell for replacements. Last but not least. If I can't find a value on a piece, I weigh it then figure out what it's worth at melt prices. Multiply that by 3 and price it at that. Or take it to the swap meet with you. I've traded silver plate pieces for vintage jewelry & tools. Hope that gives you some good leads - ideas!
