Between work and life, it’s been hectic lately and I haven’t been able to get out much for some swing time. Today though I was fortunate enough to meet TheHunterGT at the local old park and got a few hours of detecting in. I pulled a few bucks in clad and two wheats, including a 1910-S semi-key date wheat cent. Nothing super special but it was nice to dig a few holes.

I love finding wheat pennies in good shape like yours. I have coin folder books for wheat pennies, barber dimes, and mercury dimes that I am trying to fill.

Yep! Even wheats can pay off. Little over a decade ago I dug a 1914-D in excellent shape. Graded it according to my Red Book and it's a $300.00 coin, and went into the empty slot of my Whitman coin book. I've found some 1909's and 1909 V.D.B.'s but still waiting on that elusive 1909-S, VDB. Good find!

Some people skip those wheat signals but I never do. You never know when it’s gonna be something like this, especially living on the west coast. Nice going!!

A great feeling comes with finding old wheat pennies like that one.Next you will pull up a 09s or 11s.
