Senior citizens are constantly being criticized for every conceivable deficiency of the modern world, real or imaginary. We know we take responsibility for all we have done and do not blame others.

HOWEVER, upon reflection, we would like to point out that it was NOT the senior citizens who took:

The melody out of music,
The pride out of appearance,
The courtesy out of driving,
The romance out of love,
The commitment out of marriage,
The responsibility out of parenthood,
The togetherness out of the family,
The learning out of education,
The service out of patriotism,
The Golden Rule from rulers,
The nativity scene out of cities,
The civility out of behavior,
The refinement out of language,
The dedication out of employment,
The prudence out of spending,
The ambition out of achievement or
God out of government and school.

And we certainly are NOT the ones who eliminated patience and tolerance from personal relationships and interactions with others!!

And, we do understand the meaning of patriotism, and remember those who have fought and died for our country.
Just look at the Seniors with tears in their eyes and pride in their hearts as they stand at attention with their hand over their hearts!

YES, I'M A SENIOR CITIZEN!

I'm the life of the party...... even if it lasts until 8 p.m.

I'm very good at opening childproof caps.... with a hammer.

I'm awake many hours before my body allows me to get up.

I'm smiling all the time because I can't hear a thing you're saying.

I'm sure everything I can't find is in a safe secure place, somewhere.

I'm wrinkled, saggy, lumpy, and that's just my left leg.

I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.

Yes, I'm a SENIOR CITIZEN and I think I am having the time of my life!

When as a child, we'd take our foot and drag a line in the dust, and have a peeing contest...

Now I can't even make the line and instead I now have water on the knee (or thereabouts)...

Aka, the trickle down effect :read2:

I'm having the time of my life....Does that make me a senior citizen?

I'm hearin that 'senior citizen' tag more and more. And yeah, I like to be in bed by 9pm if I can. (Hated it when I was a little kid) However, most of the young folks are still out lookin for it at 2am.

So if you were 20 years old and at Woodstock you would be how old now? :sign13:

THAT generation nailed most everything on that list.

Shenanigans.

If not, try and find my old man's Nash rambler station wagon...(or just the back seat)

Reminds me about the time I tried driving over the humps when leaving the local drive-in theater... with the back seat in the parade rest position...

Try that whole clutching a stick shift and while your butt scooting backwards...

The next morning I was in the barn early trying to fix the damn seat...and the old man came in with a big grin on his face...

As I recall, all he said was for me to clean the seats...he was taking mom into town later on...

That was a senior moment (senior in high school, that is) ;D

seat option loved it . A lot of the next generation got their start on those seats .

Some of the smartest people, that sadly get written off as 'old nut jobs' are actually very bright. They will teach you things that no younger 'kid' even has a hint of knowing. I try to tell people, "If you would only listen for a moment, you'll learn a lot". For some reason, people don't like to know about history and what the most experiences of us all, know. The younger generation are actually quite dumb. Very dumb indeed.
