Shadows of the past

Sometimes no matter how good the soil is finds come up as shadows of their former selves. This find for example is a 17Th Century trading token . It was issued by Thomas Wortley grocer of Doncaster in the year 1666. Got to admit these 17Th Century tokens are one of my favourite type of finds.

yeap, not a cheap book. Good but a hard reference book to use (I think)
