Shepard's tool or what?

Hi guys.
I found this kind of tool in the area where i have found coins from 1500-1600. For me it is a shepard's tool used to catch the sheeps and if so, it makes me think that a sheep's market was held there in that times. Do you think the same?

It looks very similar to a loggers pike.

Loooong history your digging through there in Italy. If they used those to snag their sheep (ouch) you have taught me more than I could help you with. Hope you find out for sure what you got. Very cool congrats. It does look pretty much exactly like a loggers pike. Scale? How big is it?

There is a small river but not sailable. The ocean is 300 km from here and the lakes 70 km. It is 14cm tall and it has 15mm of diammeter.
