Anyone else Destroy Shoes Annually ?

I've been Buying Interceptor Tactical Boots at Wallmart for Years Now.
The first pair Lasted the longest.
after tthat they got cheap and rarely lasted 4 months before the left one would
crack, or the bottom would pull loose. after wasting so Much on Boots,
I Started Fixing them With PC-7 but unfortunately it would Crack.

this year I gave up on buying Interceptors & Decided to Try voodoo tactical boots.
but fear once I start Kicking around And Kneeling Down Over & Over I'll Destroy These Too.
So I Started Looking on Ebay for Glues. Trying to Find something To repair my Old Interceptors to get more Life out of them.

Decided on a pint Can of Flex Seal.

DSCF0003(1).JPG

Very Impressive So far, it's like Painting with Liquid Rubber.
But I haven't Started Using them yet.

downside Flex Seal Shines like a New Black Car :laughing7:
But once I Get out there I should be able to Scratch that New waxed Car Look away.

Hmmm, shiney Huh? I wonder if that is what Keene uses to glue the ribbed matting in the head of their sluices?

Jeff, you must be hard on shoes. I've got a pair of Red Wing boots I never had to work in. I wear them for everything but work, woods, fishing, yard work etc.. They have about worn out the tread slick but are still serviceable. They are something like 30 yrs. old.
I usta make a pair of high top work shoes last about a yr. (3k plus miles) if I wore rubber slip on overshoes when raining or heavy dew. You get what ya pays for but if that roofing rubber works for you keep on truckin. Good luck.

Yea Must be the Up & Down of me Kneeling to Dig & the Toes of the Boots
Bending continually.

Very Odd though, My first Pair of Intercepters lasted so Long,
I Wore the Tread off the Bottom of the Left one on an Angle.
apparently My Foot turns in slightly.

anyway after that I've gone though about 5 More Pair
in the last 5 or so years (Counting the 2 Pair I refurbished.

My Guess Interceptor Changed Manufacturers.

Thats because redwings are decent boots. The walmart/target/kmart specials never last

Interesting! Keep us in the loop on the durability. If you are out coin shooting, people might start throwing change your way on the ground..."That poor man had to cover his shoes in tar!" :walk:

Jeff, They look like leather. You gotta keep bear grease on them. Don't let then dry out. My Dad carried Snow-Proof in the store when I was a teen. Yup, I can remember that far back. I have boots from Bean. Must be five years old. I grease them up twice a year. Get where the upper meets the sole real good and the valley where the tongue meets the upper. Don't be afraid to get it on your hands. Good for them too.
