Oasis Outback in Uvalde, Texas had a kill the most contest of bobcat, mountain lions, coyote, hogs and a few other critters last year and nobody said a word. Prizes were money if I recall.

How do you feel about that Jeff? I know how ranchers feel about it. Coyotes are like huge, fast rats, that kill their chickens, sheep, calves, and pets.

I just feel it's funny they are doing it & it's upsetting the environmentalists

Usually the reason for this type of hunt isn't for the fun, but it serves a purpose. They probably have issues with the population of coyotes. Coyotes are a survival specialists, they begin to over populate a rea were food is abundant. That food includes almost anything, livestock, ( chickens,ducks,rabbits, sheep,calves even domestic pets) that hurts, especially financially. Have a loving pet removed from your porch never to be seen again and see if you wouldn't participate ? The reason is to keep numbers in check not to extinct ! The important thing is,we need to remember is to mind our business and let them deal with their issues themselves. Just like us when we detect and someone stops and sticks their noses in our business where it doesnt belong.

and guess what...each year they catch thousands more...

atleast try and make a quick humane shot. torture is not a good thing for any animal.bad karma.

Most coyote hunters are very good shots . As far as the rattlesnakes here in ( Pa. ) The Roundup partisipants are required to return them alive to the capture location . Some will keep 1 , but there are length & rattle restrictions . It's a very educational roundup .
