Went back home today were I grew up at.Anyway sliped out for about 45mins and done some mding  Only thing I found in the short time was a 1907 IH some pieces I don't know and this Button that I'm not sure of either as I don't tend to hunt these type sites. As it looks to me it is a marine button from the civil war era but I could sure stand some help with it not my field on civil war things Yet! :laughing9:

Pete the Colonial Cut Silver and Cob Hunter, :hello:

What's up, buddy? It is good to see you out and about. The sandy beaches of NC will be kind to you this spring and summer. Every flip of the soil will reveal something of Colonial origin. :headbang:

Keep picking up those pottery sherds as well. They look awesome in your flower pots. Great idea, buddy! :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft:

Keep the passion high! :headbang: :notworthy: :hello2: :icon_sunny:

Pete the Colonial Man, once you get back on the Colonial train, IP will be shivering uncontrollably! :laughing9: You will be back on your next hunts! That is a given just like gravity! :notworthy: :headbang: :notworthy:

I smell a cob, cut silver, and very rare pewter button popping for you this month! :notworthy:

Not for 45 min. Pete! :headbang:

That button is so hard to tell w/o the back mark...it sure looks period.
But the ones made during the CW were used in WW1 as well...Good find buddy none the less

So true Pete, in the field I dug today, I would never have guessed I would find anything worthwhile let alone rare. Well done on the button, it's nice to find history :icon_thumleft:.
