Short hunt with my son to get out of the house!

Got out this morning for the first time in 7 weeks! My son was going crazy, so we went to our usual property to see what was new. The fields were mowed and it was a beautiful day. A little hot, but we were happy to be out.

Gilted Eagle button I assume is Confederate officer button? It has stars around the edge you can barely see. Found in a small area next to a pond where we have found many three ringers and some other CW artifacts.



Also found what looks like a saddle tack in the same area.



Then got a piece that looks like a tip to something. A cane maybe?



My son also found a piece of old metal that has what looks like a bird on it. It is thin but heavy where the bird thing is. Not stamped but poured.

Yep, I tooth picked it for a while on the front and lightly brushed it with a soft tooth brush and a little vinegar. Then some light vaseline. I will probably work a little more on the back later. It is rough.
