Their is no reason to save S mint pennies ( cents ) - sorry! 1981 and earlier cents are made of copper. many people save those. All mint marks included in that 1981.

They did mint a lot of them but as mentioned it is lower then P and D. I think save what you like. Also Indian heads were not horded and are now worth a pretty cent or two.
