Metal Detecting
I started detecting early this year and have found silver in a lot of spots close to home. It's fitting that what will likely be my last one of the year was found just beyond my back door. This area was extensively excavated 10 years ago in preparation for a development which never came. I had discounted it early on for this reason and the fact that I was finding modern cans at over 12"
Found the 61 Rosie at only a few inches over by where a house once stood. Hope everyone has a Happy New Year and happy hunting

The term "you just never know" comes to mind. So many places I have not hunted and I give myself a ton of reasons why nothing will be there to be dug, Then on a whim I hunt it and boom good stuff!! Makes it a lot of fun

Love to see a silver in the hole, you just never know about an area unless you invest some time and swing the coil. I pulled a LC from a property that had a house from the mid 1950's on it. Granted it was next door from a house constructed in 1870. I also dug an 1864 2 cent coin on the lot of a house built in 1900, but the neighboring house was built in 1850.

MR. TOAST NICE FINDS ..

very nice. vacant lots where houses once stood are one of my favorite places to hunt

Most of the homes on my street were built in 2005 with a few a bit older. Not sure how old the house that was torn down was but this coin matches the age of a bottle/trash dump back in the woods
