These are my top finds from hunts on Jan. 18 and today, Jan 20, 2018.
Ground was just starting to thaw in Baltimore City on Thursday. There had been some utility work at the SW corner of this park and I went over to check out the excavation before I started detecting. There was a bottle sitting on top of the dirt pile. Aside from some scrapes this amber side-strap liquor bottle is intact. My first find was dug by someone else.
On to detecting and the head phones worked for the first dig and then nothing so I was on external speaker for the rest of the hunt. Did find several wheats and eventually got on to a little bit of a silver hotspot, pulling a rosie and then a merc about 15 feet away.
Fast forward to today and I got together with Jamie1993 at a school site. We both ended up with silver x 2. Jamie dug a friendship bracelet with most of the chain and then came upon a coin spill of 5 wheats and a 1943 P war nickel. My silver came as an earring and then toward the end of the hunt, a 1959 Washington quarter.
All in all, more silver in several days than I've dug in awhile.
