Hoping to find one of those seated halves soon. Worn or not. Excellent hunt

If that CSA button is authentic and not a reproduction (like you might be saying is reunion) then I'm voting banner. WOW! Great finds!!!

Congratulations on the nice collection of old silver! :occasion14:

I can barely make out what appears to be a "WA" on the back mark which makes me think Waterbury. I don't think Waterbury made confederate buttons during the period.[emoji20]

Made me DROOL to at first but I think it's reproduction or possible reunion.I do think it's fairly old , had lead around the shank🤔

That's a wonderful half dollar. It has seen a lot of hands and man I wish it could tell us some tales!

Great other finds the CSA button is awesome!!!!

Sadly I think you may be right. Scovills (in Waterbury) did make buttons that were used by the Confederacy but not on a CSA button that I know of. Waterbury has been making repro CSAs for a good while now, and sadly I think that may be what you have. I can't exactly tel but the letters honestly don't look right, they should be lined unless it was a cast one piece if I remeber correctly. However, it is beautiful and still a great find! I hope it's authentic, but I'm sadly leaning away from authenticity. That seated half is KILLER btw!

THE CSA BUTTON IS A KILLER FIND ...
