I love digging those things. I think both date 1810 to 1820's or so.

Hi Dean,

Very nice buttons. I think that they are actually not 2 flatties. The second button is more like 1-piece low convex type. It's difficult to date them precisely without complete backmarks. But they seem more of 1830-40's period. Maybe by Firmin or Boggett of London. Those types of buttons were used as late as Civil War or probably a bit later.
