Silver and "Gold"

Greetings-
New guy here. Lurking for awhile, bought my wife a Prism V and myself a Surfmaster PI and XLT. Never really found much worthy of posting, unitl this weekend :)
We hunted a fairground (2 hours) after a 3 day carnival.
There were so many targets, we decided to concentrate only on those ringing up as a quarter and showing 1.5 inches or shallower...our take was pretty good...we think this site will produce for us for quite some time

13 Susan B Anthony $1
19 Sakajawea $1 (our "Gold")
79 Dimes (1- 1960 silver Eisenhower)
64 quarters arranged in rows by decade 60's through 2000's (no silver)
7 Nickles
90 pennies
1 Chucky Cheese token
and
1 Fun Factory token
$57.15 ;D

Once the quarters stop, maybe then we'll start digging the other targets!

Happy hunting folks...we sure are

That's awesome amount of coins, at that rate you can afford to chase the carnival full time and take the Bus doing it. In Hawaii no less, guess everyone is busy working Wakikiki and North Shore. Welcome to the forum and congrats. 8)
Most folks working Waikiki REALLY work Waikiki and North Shore...and they do not like intruders on "Their" beach ::) They start at like 0330 AM and literally clean the beach and lagoons. Good for them-not worth it to us.
We go when they leave and talk to the tourists, help them find lost stuff, and really haven't found much else other than a few coins.
We were going to go after the Carnival's next stop...but it is pretty much a locals only area-we'll wait till it moves on - looks like we have plenty of hunting potential still ahead of us ;)

Would think by the size and type of state that there were enough beaches to go around ;D HH
We thought so too...until we moved here. Can't wait to leave- :-\
Hijack over...

Re: Silver and "Gold"

Great finds and pics! If a modern carnival location produces like that I wonder how many people have found and hunted old carnival sites that are no longer in use? I've got some books on early town histories from some of the surrounding towns and communities in my area and they almost always mention where these carnivals were held since that was before the days of TV, etc. and most of the town showed up for these yearly events. See pics below. Jim Cal
