Managed to get permission to hunt an older home site and Baldingboy and I snuck out Thursday night for 45 minutes. (just getting to post it today)

First thing I found was a wheat and I proceeded to find 4 more for a total of 5. Two hotwheel cars and some other odds and ends and as I was walking along got a signal that read in the gold range and found this strange rock/chunk of something.

Had a good time but the hunt was short.

Definitely have to go back.

The Merc was between two roots and I had a heck of a time getting it loose. So the dime looks pretty bad but I will not complain, silver is silver.

The key is totally blank which I think is just a little weird.....

Nice job, Larry!!

Were these finds with your Tesoro? I think I remember you saying your Explorer is not working properly.

Your stone is a piece of pyrite, or what many call "fools gold".

Congrats,

No I'm using the Beast. I took the Sunray apart and found a loose wire on it. I took a solder gun to it and it is working again.

I am saving $$$ for an SE PRO with new Sunray but every time I get a little in the bank something happens to wipe it all out.

Thanks Captn and everyone else.

Yeah first Pyrite I have found. Think it is really cool....

Mastereagle scratched that dime because he was gnawing on that root with his teeth. That other thing isn't pyrite either, it's one of his fillings that he lost while he growled and chewed on the root (or dime as fate would have it.)

Just keeping the story straight!

You two have so much fun! :D I would have been "overly" excited with that pyrite, just call me a fool. Great hunt per usual guys!

I will not! I was super happy with it. I stopped detecting and walked over to BB to show him my big chunk of "gold". One neat thing to find.

Thanks.

It's been so long since I found one I'm not sure I would know what they would look like if I were to find any....

You always find a silver dime, seems like everytime you turn the beast on....
The pile has grown, little larger than usual.
I think some guys were 1-Sittin on a ladder-2-drinkin beer-3-takin notes-4-tryin to put change in the piggy bank-5-kinda rebuildin a starter motor-6-holdin a dog-7-trimin their fingernails-8-while playin with cars-9- and solderin some plumbing fixtures.....Whew....

I don't "always" find a silver dime. But when I do find silver it seems that 98% of the time it is a silver dime and about 72% of the time it is a Merc. ::) :D

What can I say the Explorer II loves silver and Wheat pennies. I credit the machine more that I do the guy running it.
