Some of my better findings of this week. Medieval silver buckle (this type was used as early as 1200 AD), silver spoon, WW2 Finnish army war merit medal, another medal with unknown man in it, russian artillery button, russian navy button, 1941 sport badge between Finland and Sweden, WW2 Finnish officers cufflink/badge, some coppers, oldest 1720 öres, musketballs from the Great Northern war, address plate with name G.Salminen? and other stuff.

Hey Pete. Your medieval buckle is a fur trade brooch...probably french. Look closely for a makers mark.
Nice find!

Simply amazing finds Aquila! :o I hope the silver medieval buckle turns out to be a fur trade brooch as ColonialDude says! :notworthy: This piece is very interesting, beautiful old glass . . . looks like a liqour bottle or cruet bottle stopper? :icon_scratch:

It is an old old buckle. Similar buckles from Finnish forum. Sadly the tongue is missing. Yes the medal and the sport badge are both from year 1941.

What would a medieval buckle be doing in the U.S.?? Sure, it's very similar to those buckles, but it's not one.

I have no idea. I dug this buckle in the Middle Finland. Some coins I dug from field I found this buckle were 1570-1590. Buckle it its. Somebody stated earlier buckles this type were used in the boots of the russian soldiers.

Ahhhhh...my apologies! Makes sense now. I thought you were in the U.S....guess I somehow missed the flag in your avatar. If it was dug in Finland then I am sure it is what you say it is. My mistake.
